HARROGATE hit-man Luke Armstrong scored four first half goals as National League North newcomers South Shields were put to the sword by League Two Town.
It was a fourth defeat from six pre-season games for the Mariners, and a north-east double for Harrogate.
Armstrong claimed the match ball inside the opening 12 minutes, his first coming two minutes in from Abraham Odoh’s set-up.
Armstrong then struck twice in a minute to leave a shell-shocked Shields on the canvas in front of a 1,007-strong crowd.
