AVELEY took the Essex derby honours when the National League South Millers and a Colchester United XI shared five goals at Parkside.
During the close season defender Harry Beadle departed Colchester United at the end of his contract and joined Aveley for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.
About five minutes before the end of the first half, Harry Gibbs’ flick found his centre-half partner Beadle, who netted with an acrobatic finish into the left-hand side of the goal to give the Non-League outfit the lead at half-time.
