SHRIMPERS CHANGING HISTORY

HARWICH & Parkeston have brought forward plans to celebrate their 150th anniversary after discovering that the club is actually two years older than previously thought!
Signs around the club’s Royal Oak ground indicate that the club was founded in 1877.
However, researchers have discovered copies of old newspapers in the British Library which indicated that Harwich FC were formed after a meeting at the former Three Cups Hotel in the town’s Church Street in October 1875.
