HURST PUTS THE SEAL ON BLUES BATTLE

NPL Premier side Leek Town continued their preparations for the new season with victory over Midland League side Hanley Town.
It was Hanley who had the first chance to break the deadlock after just four minutes when Max Van Der Laan hit the crossbar from distance.
That was the first of two Hanley efforts that rattled the frame as Eden Bailey did the same from just outside the area shortly after the restart.
Leek’s best chance of a slow first half saw Alex Hurst cut the ball back to a trialist who put the shot just wide.
