SPORTING Khalsa had to settle for a draw in their home pre-season opener after being held by visitors Punjab United in their annual meeting.
This was the third consecutive year that the teams had met in a friendly, set up to mark the beginning of South Asian Heritage Month with the Black Country hosts winning last season’s encounter 8-1.
Khalsa started strongly in this year’s edition too with Punjab goalkeeper Owen Bushell being called into action within a minute, denying Jimmy McGrady.
