RECORD BREAKER: Maidenhead’s Dave Tarpey

WHAT an achievement from Maidenhead United’s Dave Tarpey on beating the National League South goalscoring record last week – with more than a month of the season still left to play!
Tarpey’s 35 goals, up until yesterday, have propelled unfashionable Maidenhead to the brink of the National League, and I just hope they can clear that final hurdle for the honour of their wily manager Alan Devonshire, who is again performing miracles at York Road.
