FITTING TRIBUTE TO DAN’S MEMORY

A MEMORIAL match between Shaw Lane and Brighouse Town has raised £1,000 for the Daniel Wilkinson Foundation, named in honour of the defender who died last season during a game.
Wilkinson collapsed while playing for Shaw Lane against Brighouse last September. His parents Barry and Gill set up the foundation to raise awareness and money for defibrillators, CPR training and heart screenings.
The 24-year-old’s death devastated the club, but they united to win the Evo- Stik NPL Division One South title, dedicating the triumph to him. Fittingly, Shaw Lane won the Dan Wilkinson Trophy ...
