UCL WILL ALWAYS MISS ‘MR RUSHDEN’

THE UNITED Counties League are mourning the passing of their President Ken Ambridge – known as ‘Mr Rushden’.
Ambridge, who was 97, followed in his father’s footsteps at Rushden Town and was their secretary from 1952-1978 before becoming chairman.
He became a member of the United Counties League Management Committee in 1958, in 1981 was elected Vice Chairman and President in 1990 – a position he held on several occasions until 2011, then permanently until his passing.
