Playing for pride

ALEX Narey is right to highlight the achievements of Gary Taylor and his Worcester Park team (NLP, January 7).
Over 30 years ago I was a manager of a Worcester Park team that achieved success in the league and county cups. Incredibly, we had to play our last home league game away as there was a cricket friendly at the ground!
Although I went on to manage Redhill, Molesey and Dulwich Hamlet, I shall never forget those times we had at the friendly grass-roots club. Keep it going Gary!
