BRAD Birch bagged a goal and three assists after a day of graft and more than 300 miles on the road – but was still left counting sheep when he got home.
The Worcester City captain defied the odds to race from Bognor Regis to Hereford an hour before Wednesday’s thrilling 4-2 triumph at Westfields kicked off.
All-action Birch helped City to recover from conceding after 28 seconds and a howler from goalkeeper Matt Gwynne to keep up with the pacesetters in the Midland Football League Premier Division.
