INJURY TO LINO ENDS BIG CLASH

A CRUNCH relegation battle had to be halted before half-time – due to a freak injury to a match official!
Second-from-bottom Verwood Town were leading 1-0 away to Sydenhams Wessex Division One basement club Folland Sports, through a Brad Gale goal, last Saturday when the game was abandoned on 41 minutes.
A linesman went down with an ankle injury – and despite their being a referee’s assessor present, there was nobody in the ground who was qualified to take his place.
