As the dust began to settle on last weekend’s emotional roller-coaster and Non-League Finals Day at Wembley, FA chiefs may have at first felt a degree of disappointment at the final attendance number for their end-of-season showpiece.
A combined crowd of 31,430 clicked through the turnstiles. Impressive enough you would think but some way down on the 2017 number (38,224) and a world away from the figure of two years ago, when a mass of Hereford fans made their way down the M40 to help steer the digits up to 46,781.
