HITCHIN overcame a slow start to down Hastings.
Hastings began well with attacking chances coming from the pace of Dayshonne Gelding and Daniel Ajakiaye.
Hitchin lacked cohesion, only looking threatening from set-pieces, but took the lead against the flow of play as Matt Spring’s freekick picked out Lewis Ferrell, whose challenged header still found the net.
Hastings faded almost incomprehensibly in the second half and conceded a penalty on 49 minutes when Jamie Fielding brought down Ezra Forde – the spotkick converted by Josh Bick...
