There was to be no cup upset at North Road as Torquay United comfortably beat Brightlingsea Regent to secure their place in the 4th qualifying round.
United took the lead in the 15th minute when Opi Edwards was fouled in the box and Jamie Reid confidently tucked away the resulting penalty - comfortably rolling it the other side of the keeper’s despairing dive.
