There was to be no cup upset at North Road as Torquay United comfortably beat Brightlingsea Regent to secure their place in the 4th qualifying round.
United took the lead in the 15th minute when Opi Edwards was fouled in the box and Jamie Reid confidently tucked away the resulting penalty - comfortably rolling it the other side of the keeper’s despairing dive.
Brightlingsea looked brighter after half-time and came close to equalizing through Billy Hunt, but Torquay doubled their lead on 67 minutes when Asa Hall headed home foll...
