BAN FOR FAN WHO ABUSED ASHMORE

AN EASTLEIGH fan who racially abused Ebbsfleet United goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore has been banned from attending his club’s matches and fined by magistrates.
Magistrates in Southampton heard how Martin Lombardi, 59, shouted foul language towards Ashmore – a former player of southcoast rivals Gosport Borough – during a match in April.
Officers arrested Lombardi with using threatening words, behaviour or language to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He pleaded guilty to the offence.
