Shaun Gardner’s fifth minute goal was followed by a clincher from Martyn Coleman early in the second half.
At the other end of the table Dunston UTS knocked Consett off the top after a 5-2 win at Newton Aycliffe.
Mark Fitzpatrick scored a hat-trick while Jack Elliott and Jordan Nellis also found the net. Aycliffe played three quarters of the game with 10 men after Josh Rodgers was sent off Consett were held 3-3 at home by Whitley Bay.
