NEEDHAM MARKET have been fined £2,000 by The FA after failing to fulfil their FA Trophy first round fixture.
The Suffolk-based club refused to travel to their rearranged tie at Weymouth on Tuesday December 18 when the initial fixture three days earlier was postponed, with players and staff having already made the 230-mile trip to Dorset on the Friday.
Needham felt it was unreasonable for their players to have to take further time off work at short notice to make the journey to the south coast in midweek and suggested that the fixture be played at a later date.
