FARSLEY scraped a 2-1 win thanks to a late lunging Jack Higgins header four minutes from time to maintain their league leadership.
They had earlier seen two efforts disallowed and Matlock looked as though their battling qualities would earn a deserved point.
Farsley won few friends with their histrionics but those tactics proved successful against a Matlock side whose injury problems keep on increasing.
