CASUALS LATE SHOW COMES UP JUST SHORT

A GOAL six minutes from time by Warren Mfula changed what appeared to be a comfortable win for Merstham into an edgy last few minutes, although the hosts did hold on.
Casuals started the better, and Merstham keeper Amadou Tangara denied Mfula with a brave save at the striker’s feet on 13 minutes.
Gradually, the Merstham midfield, superbly marshalled by Kenny Beaney, began to dominate.
It was newly-wed skipper Simon Cooper who made the breakthrough, stabbing home a corner in the 31st minute to give the Moatsiders the crucial lead.
