MIKE PHENIX has retired from football following an FA hearing.
The former Salford City striker had his contract terminated at Southport in October due to “serious issues”.
At the time, he wrote on Instagram saying he had “been tested for a so-called sports enhancement”.
The 30-year-old won the National League North with Salford last year, having featured in the Football League for Barnsley following a £25,000 transfer from AFC Telford United in 2014.
