Refs on level playing field

ROY ARNOLD considers the standard of refereeing at the National League games to be “generally poor” (Fans’ Forum, March 24) and lists a number of offences that referees allow players to “get away with”.
Among those are goalkeepers “spending an age stamping down imaginary divots”, which come under the blanket of fence of either timewasting or ung entlemanly conduct. As such, referees have the right to deal with them as they see fit.
