LUKE TUFFS says he hopes securing his first managerial appointment can help scores of others in the game have the confidence to come out as gay.
The 31-year-old has been handed the reigns at ambitious Combined Counties Premier League side Knaphill after helping to guide successful neighbours Hartley Wintney to three straight promotions as first-team coach.
Off-the-field, Tuffs also acts as a role model for the LGBT community as the only openly gay football coach or manager in English senior football.
