UP FOR THE CUP: Boldmere St Michaels are a favourite

I WAS interested to read the interview with Boldmere St Michaels manager Stuart Grosvenor last week (NLP, August 25).
The reason? I saw my first ever match watching Barnet play in the Amateur Cup semi-final against
Boldmere in 1948 at Arsenal’s Highbury ground, which Barnet eventually went on to win 2-0. Since then I have always looked out for the Mikes’ results and it is pleasing to read of their recent period of success.
