EFL CHIEFS RAPPED FOR CUP ‘BIAS’

LIVERPOOL’S punishment for fielding an ineligible player has been slammed by Non-League chiefs with many claiming the game’s elite are given preferential treatment.
The Champions League winners and Premier League leaders might have easily been expelled from the Carabao Cup after they fielded midfielder Pedro Chirivella in their thirdround tie at MK Dons last month despite him not having the necessary international clearance.
Instead they were fined £200,000 – half of which is suspended – by the EFL.
