SEAGULL DOWLING FACES LEGAL ACTION

WESTON-SUPER-MARE midfielder George Dowling is to face trial having been charged with a serious assault.
Dowling, who joined the Seagulls from boyhood club Bristol City in the summer, denies causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent to Zheenyar Karime, following an incident near the Gravity nightclub in Clifton, on February 3 this year.
He appeared at Bristol Crown Court on August 27 for a plea and trial preparation hearing along with co-defendant Ellis Harper. Both Dowling, 20, of Bishopsworth, and Harper, 26, of Southville were bailed unconditionally for a trial on February 3, 2020.
