FIRST-HALF goals from James Ellis and Olly Hotchkiss saw Northern League side Ryhope CW make progress.
Visitors Ashton started well and almost took an early lead.
Adam Howard’s cross curled towards the right corner of the goal and forced James Winter to tip over.
Ryhope then began to get a hold of the game and they got in front in the 24th minute.
Hotchkiss’s fantastic ball over the defence found Ellis who fired into the bottom corner.
The home side were soon given a chance to double the lead when Howard tripped Ellis inside the penalty ...
