LANCASTER City moved up to third with a convincing win over Ashton United at Giant Axe. The visitors had the first opportunity when Sam Ashton turned a header from Ionut-Casian Anghel over the crossbar.
Lancaster went ahead after 18 minutes when Sam Bailey sent over a deep cross for the onrushing David Norris to head past Lloyd Allinson.
A free-kick into Ashton’s penalty area saw Lewis Fensome almost double Lancaster’s lead after 25 minutes but he was denied by goalkeeper Allinson.
