Sin-bins should start at the top

I HAVE to take issue with your article “It’s official! The sin-bin is working” (NLP, January 5).
Whilst I can’t dispute the figures in the article, my experience of watching getting on for 30 games at Step 6 so far this season is that the decline in recorded dissent is due to referees NOT using the option to sin-bin a player but instead accepting dissent from players and benches that last season they would have issued a yellow card for.
I am also of the opinion that, unsurprisingly, The FA got it wrong by not introducing dissent sin-bins at the top ...
