With assessors come a fl urry of cards

EVERY season, I watch hundreds of Non-League games from youth to senior level, mainly following my local team, Worthing FC.
I don’t know whether it’s my imagination but when I see a referee’s assessor in attendance at a match there is invariably a plethora of yellow and red cards.
This has happened in a number of games already this season – sometimes up to seven yellow cards shown, with a couple of reds thrown in too!
I have spoken to various other club members and they seem to be of the same opinion – it’s almost as if the referee and his/her assistants ...
