GEORGE NEWELL’S double was not enough to earn Southport maximum points at home to Bradford Park Avenue. The visitors, anchored to the foot of the table, twice took the lead as they went in search of their first league win since the start of December. Having battled back, the hosts then went in front through Newell midway through the second half, before former Port defender Billy Priestley scored a late leveller.
