DISAPPOINTED Chief Executive Craig Johnson says Aveley were powerless to prevent top goalscorer joining ambitious league rivals Brentwood Town.
Sykes scored 20 goals in 37 games for the Millers – including seven in 12 this season – as they chased promotion from Isthmian North.
But now the former Barnet, Farnborough, Bishop’s Stortford, St Albans City, Canvey Island, Maldon & Tiptree and Tilbury striker is on the move again, to Essex rivals Brentwood, who lie third bottom of the table.
