HAVANT reached the next round after an instantly forgettable game.
Roarie Deacon’s 73rd-minute goal gave the Hawks the win and inflicted a first defeat on new Braintree manager Ryan Maxwell.
Both sides huffed and puffed their way through the first half, but neither goalkeeper was seriously threatened.
The highlight was a humungous hail storm which forced the referee to briefly pause proceedings whilst it blew out.
Josh Taylor had the best chance of the half, but dragged his shot just wide.
