■ A DEFLECTED goal in the first half separated the sides as league football returned to the IP Truck Parts Stadium for the first time since November.
Cables began the game on the front foot, stringing together a couple of decent opportunities, as long balls released Michael Monaghan on breaks towards the Runcorn goal.
The deadlock in this keenly contested derby was broken in the 27th minute when Iwan Murray’s shot was deflected past Mitchell Allen to give the visitors a lead that they held into half-time.
