SWITCH: Martin Smith

JAMES ROWE has continued his spending spree at Chesterfield by landing midfielder Martin Smith. The 25-year-old joins the Spireites after his 18-month spell at Salford City was ended by mutual consent.
Smith began his career at Sunderland before stints in Scotland and Northern Ireland with Kilmarnock and Coleraine respectively.
He joined Salford in the summer of 2019 and was on loan at Chorley last season.
The move may also end hopes of Gavin Gunning joining from Gloucester City with Rowe prevented from re-signing any more players from his former club.
