RECORD books are being checked after a total of 75 goals were scored in one grassroots league – by just two teams in two games!
Peterborough Rangers hammered visitors Sawtry Rangers 40-0 at the Bushfield Leisure Centre in Division Five of the Peterborough & District League.
Sawtry began the game fielding just eight players, fulfilling the fixture to avoid a financial penalty for not doing so with 53-year-old Adi Bunn in goal.
Rangers player-manager and chairman Dwayne Rankin, who founded the club this season, hit 13 of the goals, with Tiago Dias netting 11, Chris Brown seven...
