Rooks power past sad Bowers

LEWES produced a controlled performance to overcome Bowers & Pitsea at The Len Salmon Stadium.
Mitchell Beeney, who was Lewes goalkeeper the last time these two teams met in Essex, was called into action first, beating away Taylor Maloney’s long-range strike.
But Lewes took the lead in the 17th minute, when Callum Leahy brought Joe Taylor down inside the area, and the Rooks man rolled the resulting penalty into the bottom corner, sending Beeney the wrong way.
