That sent the Robins, who have played three games less than second-placed Consett, three points clear. Consett’s challenge is effectively over after they lost 1-0 at home to relegation-threatened Northallerton Town who struck through experienced striker Dale Hopson.
That sent them four points clear of second-bottom Bishop Auckland, who lost 1-0 at home to Seaham Red Star, for whom Danny Sayer scored.
