CANVEY Island produced a stunning comeback to snatch the points from a Hornchurch side whose late reduction to ten men proved pivotal to the afternoon.
The first half offered no hint of the drama to come, with neither side crafting a clear opportunity.
Canvey went closest, Callum Sturgess playing a superb low ball into the box, but Danny Parish unable to make the connection.
Hornchurch huffed and puffed but couldn’t break down a stubborn Gulls defence, testing keeper Rhys Byrne just once.
