CHIRK GIVE THE SAINTS A SCARE

CUP FEVER swept through Chirk, the old mining village on the edge of Wrexham, and threatened to write another unforgettable chapter in their history as they held JD Welsh Cup holders The New Saints 1-1 over 90 minutes.
However, TNS went through to the next round, 4-2 on penalties.
Colliers’ star Ryan Davies capitalised on a short back pass and fired past on-rushing Connor Roberts to put his side one-up on 51 minutes.
