Chris Hargreaves leaves Yeovil Town after poor run

Chris Hargreaves has been sacked after just five months as manager of Yeovil Town.

The Glovers have only won two games under Hargreaves, who leaves with the club sat 21st in the National League table .

The 50-year-old was initially appointed on a two-year deal but this season after only one win in his last ten games he was sacked. 

In a club statement, chairman Scott Priestnall said: “I would firstly like to thank Chris for his effort & professionalism during his time at Huish Park. 

“After internal discussions this week, it has been decided that it’s best we go our separate ways. We wish Chris every success in the future.”

Both wins under Hargreaves were 1-0wins with his last win being at home hosting Solihull Moors on October 8.

Tuesday’s 2-0 loss at home to Aldershot Town his time as Yeovil boss came to an end.

“There will be a further update on the management situation before Saturday’s trip to Maidstone United,” the club announced in a statement. 

The club’s next game is away to Maidstone United on October 29.
