LAST season’s Hellenic League champions visited their runners-up for what turned out to be a tight encounter at Meadow Lane.
United soaked up a lot of pressure without really being threatened. At the other end, Lewis Clayton made a few saves from Ashton Shanley and Harvey Flippance.
After 55 minutes, Mark Bowden made the first of several vital saves to deny George Box and on the rebound Archie Haskayne mistimed his volley.
