TEN-MAN Buckland Athletic dug deep to see off fellow high-fliers Shepton Mallet, courtesy of an early Finn Roberts goal.
Roberts received a ball from Ryan Bush and fired in a crisp low strike that skipped up off the turf and looped over Mallet keeper Tom Easterbrook in the seventh minute.
Cards began to appear as the first half went on, though, and the hosts were a man light from the 50th minute when Nick Milton Jnr saw red for his role in a melee.
