SIMON’S A VIKING

SEASONED boss Simon Houghton has been handed the reins of Northern Counties East Premier strugglers Goole AFC.
Houghton takes over at the Vikings from interim player-boss Joshua Schofield who stepped in after the resignation of Mike Carmody and Alan Jackson last month.
A club statement said: “In a managerial career of 18 years, Simon has won promotion five times either as manager or assistant. We have every confidence that he will be able to build on the stable foundations laid by Mike and Jacko and take the club forward.”
