WALSALL WOOD strengthened their hold on the top with a 2-0 victory at fellow promotion hopefuls Highgate United.
There was nothing to choose between the sides in a tight first half but Jai Verma’s goal six minutes after the break finally edged the visitors into the lead.
A missed penalty failed to knock Wood off their stride and they made sure when Mitch Tolley was successful from the spot ten minutes from time.
