HEYS OUT OF VASE

PRESTWICH Heys have been booted out of the Isuzu FA Vase for fielding an ineligible player in the last two rounds.
The North West Counties Premier club beat Whitley Bay 8-7 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the second round last Saturday.
However, a subsequent FA investigation found that Junior Dos Santos, who came on as a substitute and scored his Heys’ fourth penalty, had played in the first qualifying round for Burscough and was therefore cup tied. The player had also turned out for Heys in their 2-1 victory at Winterton Rangers in the first round proper on October 22.
