LAST season’s finalists Wrexham suffered more FA Trophy heartache after they crashed out to league rivals Altrincham following a nerve-jangling penalty shoot-out on Friday night.
Two goals in quick succession from Jacob Bickerstaff looked likeseeing Wrexham through but Zak Goodson equalised two minutes from time to set up spot kicks.
Bickerstaff and Reece Hall-Johnson then missed from the spot, leaving Toby Mullarkey to rifle home the winning penalty, sending Moss Lane into raptures.
