VICTORIOUS boss Luke Williams hailed the character of keeper Sam Slocombe having hauled him off for the penalty shootout that saw Notts County promoted.
The Magpies returned to the Football League at the fourth time of asking – all three previous attempts had ended in play-off heartache – in the most dramatic fashion, twice coming back from behind to trump Chesterfield on penalties.
