DAVID Stockdale says he wants to earn his place as York City’s number one on performance as opposed to reputation – and has still set his sights on glory.
The 37-year-old former Premier League goalkeeper has completed an emotional return to the Minstermen after 20 years away in what is being billed as the biggest transfer coup of the summer so far.
Stockdale will use his vast experience to under take a new dual role at the LNER Community Stadium as he also doubles up as the club’s new Head of Recruitment, working alongside boss Mikey Morton.
