■ VERNON Parny scored with a superb overhead goal to give Clitheroe victory.
The visitors could have taken a shock second minute lead when a sweet cross was headed wide of the post with the goal at the striker’s mercy.
Accrington loanee Alex Henderson came off the bench early in the first half and looked likeliest to make things happen.
Shortly before half-time, Parny received the ball near the six-yard box and somehow managed to fire the ball home with an overhead kick.
