■ MALDON & Tiptree and Felixstowe played out a hard-fought draw to open the season.
The Jammers got off to a dream start after 16 minutes when Felixstowe failed to clear a corner. It fell to Louie Remi in the six-yard box and he slotted home.
Just before half-time, it was 2-0. Terrell Egbri played the ball to George Smith, who unleashed a shot from 30 yards out. The ball thundered off the underside of the bar and, after a fair bit of confusion, the referee gave the goal.
